Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth, and so it´s also referred to as the Roof of the World… In the Himalaya, the mythical kingdom of Gods Shambhala is said to be hidden…

For the creators of this production, Everest means a road, a trial – of perseverance, courage, inner power, faith… They see Everest as a symbol and a metaphor, the place closest to God.

In our own microcosms, w all struggle with our own private Everest … day after day… month after month… year after year. Everest is a story of human beings and their faith. A story of strength that faith gives us, the loss we feel when faith leaves us and the hope that fills us when we find it again…

Everest has been created in a team effort. The author of music, Pavol Hammel, gave Everest to himself as a present for his sixtieth birthday and he and the other creators see it as a challenge. Everest is the outcome of their common efforts and we hope that this work will appeal to our viewers with its contemporary form and timeless theme.
