Native of Levoča, Slovakia, Ms Hornyáková studied opera singing at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava and attended Masterclasses around the world. She was contestant and finalist at Competitione dell´Opera in Dresden, The Hans Gabor Belvedere International Singing Competition in Vienna, The Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens, and the Operalia of Placido Domingo La Scala Milan. Ms Hornyáková debuted in 2006 at the Opera of the Slovak National Theatre as Mimi in Puccini´s La Bohème. She took Mimi – her profile character to the stage of La Coruńa in Spain and the Staadstheatre Braunschweig in Germany, on tour in Japan and Spain. To also feature at the Pafos Aphrodite Festival in Cyprus. Ms Hornyáková was lauded for her interpretation of Verdi ´s gentle Desdemona. She was cast for the production by the National Theatre in Praque, thus joining José Cura. She was awarded the Best Female Drama Artist for her interpretation of Marquerite in Gounod ´s Faust and of Mimi in La Bohème. Her repertoire includes am extensive range of operatic roles and concert opuses.
She has successfully collaborated with a number of the foremost orchestras, including Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, The Praque Radio Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg, Musikverein Vienna, Neue Westphalian Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra in Concertgebown in Amsterdam, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and with a range of the world´s finest conductors.
