Soprano Eva Šušková graduated in singing from Bratislava-based Church Conservatoire and University of Music & Dramatic Arts, reading vocal disciplines with Viktória Stracenská and obligatory conducting with Elena Šarayová. At present, she is a postgraduate student with profesor Peter Mikuláš. She expanded her artistic skills at both master and interpretation classes in Austria (2007), Hungary (2008) and Czech Republic (2009) with Sona Ghazarian, Rosemary Hardy, Timothy Bentch and Peter Dvorský.
Being the winner of Iuventus Canti International Singing Competition (2006) and The Best French Music Interpretation Prize laureate from ISA Prag-Wien-Budapest (2007), the singer focuses mainly on performing Works of 20th century and contemporary composers whose creations she has delivered at a number of festivals such as GAIDA (Vilnius), Prague Premieres, Melos Étos, Bratislava´s Music Festival, Konvergentions, New Slovac Music etc. She was involved in premiere performances of six Slovak original operas by J. Beneš, V. Kubička, D. Matej and S. Solovic; apart from Slovakia, repeat performances of these works have been given in Austria, Czech Republic and Poland.
She perfororms as guest singer on the stage of the Slovak National Theatre (Carmen-Mercedes, Otello - Desdemona), Czech National Theatre (Into The Little Hill), State Opera Banská Bystrica (Sorochinsky Fair – Chivria). She appeared as Claudina at concert productions of J. N. Hummel´s opera „Mathilde de Guise“ in unigue liason with the period instruments; with this opera, she toured France and Slovakia and recorded for prestige music label Brilliant Classics (2010). In 2009 she recorded CD „Russian Children´s Songs“ (Diskant 2009) with pianist Ivan Koska and with works of M. P. Mussorgsky, A. K. Lyadov, I. Stravinsky and S. Prokofiev. She also recorded for Dynamic, CPO and The Slovak Music Fund labels. In 2010 represented drmaturgical special project „secret VOICE“ with compositions for solo voice.
Eva Šušková is also actively involved in recital and chamber singing. She has collaborated with Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bohdan Warchal´s Slovak Chamber Orchestra, with ensembles Prague Modern, Quasars Ensemble, Solamente Naturali, Capella Istropolitana and others; with all above listed bodies, she has given dozens of concert performances in European countries and the U.S.A. Alongside her singing career, she was, between 2002 and 2007, an active member of Bratislava-located GUnaGU alternative theatre groupe.
