The ball-room – a place where people gather, mix, socialize - looking for a partner through dance which allows a short embrace and a path to each other. Singles become couples, strangers become partners and lovers. Our ball-room is a place where history unfolds. There are regimes changing outside, countries between the millstones of history: a World War; Communist upheaval, The spring of hope of 1968, brotherly occupation, the period of Husák’s normalization: November 1989, the break up of Czechoslovakia , ..only those lonely dancers stay the same – with their human desires and unfulfilled dreams. History has not affected their personal, minor, histories. They still dance their dances. C´est la vie...
The production was awarded the Dosky 2001 Award in the Category Best Production, Discovery of the Season (Ivana Kuxová) and Best Director of the 200/2001 season.
