Lisandro Abadie was born in Buenos Aires where he took his first singing lessons with Sergio Pelacani. He studied singing at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Evelyn Tubb and at the Musikhochschule Luzern with Peter Brechbühler. He was awarded the Edwin Fischer Gedenkpreis in 2006 and the Finalist Prize at the Handel Singing Competition in 2008. Lisandro has collaborated with renowned conductors such as William Christie, Facundo Agudin, Laurence Cummings, Václav Luks, Paul Agnew, Paul Goodwin, Giovanni Antonini, Skip Sempé, Christophe Rousset, Hervé Niquet, Alan Curtis, Geoffroy Jourdain, Simon-Pierre Bestion as well as with leading ensembles and orchestras — Les Arts Florissants, Collegium 1704, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Poème Harmonique, Il Complesso Barocco, La Risonanza, La Tempête, Le Concert Étranger, Ensemble Inégal or Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. He also performs with the pianist and composer Paul Suits. In 2010 Lisandro created the title role of the opera Cachafaz (Opéra Comique). He has sung main roles in operas and oratorios by Händel : Siroe (Göttingen Handel Festival), Giulio Cesare, Orlando, Theodora, Riccardo Primo (Handel Festival Karlsruhe, staged by Benjamin Lazar) and Rinaldo (Prague, National Theatre, direction Louise Moaty), as well as in Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis. In 2016 he tours in Europe and the USA with Les Arts Florissants, Capriccio Stravagante, Collegium 1704, Facundo Agudin, Andreas Spering and Laurence Cummings. His discography includes Handel’s Siroe, Monteverdi’s Madrigals, Handel’s Music for Queen Caroline, Airs sérieux et à boire, The Passions, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt, Aci Galatea e Polifemo, The Tempest and many other titles. His projects for 2017 include the operas Arsilda by Vivaldi with Václav Luks as well as Marais’ Alcione with Jordi Savall.
